INTLNET

when relating by way of digital networks, the master is the user, the slave is the computer,
and not the other way around.

The mission of INTLNET is to support network relational space empowerment through:
  • reference information: data collection, analysis, and dissemination
  • governance catalysis: in the support, R&D, testing, and project management areas
  • intergovernance assistance: think-tank, consulting, and secretariat services.
INTLNET is a self-financed non-profit kernel structure. It calls on sub-contractors and experts’ mailing lists.

INTLNET was jointly created with Tymnet International in 1978. It accompanied the deployment of the International Packet Switch Public Network, sharing the international dissemination of OSI and supporting the Internet interconnection in 1984. Since 1987, it has validated the Extended Network Model (ENM) through experimentation and applications. It sponsors or shares various initiatives. It operates daily documentation services on the Internet top zone.

INTLNET undertook the MDRS project, building on its experience, to extend this service and to support the design, use, and governance of open, private, or closed (walled) community relational spaces (gardens). This is an open use, user-centric, multilingual, distributed, network technology independent, and open ontology based referential system.
