International packet switch public services started by the nationalization by local monopolies of the foreign access that was offered by Tymshare Inc. in 1977, after the creation of Tymnet Inc., its datacomms affiliate, as a FCC licensed value-added common carrier. The directory of the participating services was mainly maintained by Tymnet, but the addition of the Tymnet US competition and information on many private services was managed by the Intlnet secretariat (SIAT). Here is the status of the various public services co-operating with the International datacommunications network when in 1984, the Internet connected the International networks system. At that time, the international networks system was a market monopoly of Tymnet Inc. Tymnet by then engaged in converting the naming plan into support of the X.121 OSI Digital Country Code (DCC) and Digital Network Identifying Code (DNIC) system.
